The Snow Summit Ski Resort opened in 1952 with the help of avid sportsman, Tommi Tyndall and his friends. This resort was the first of its kind with the combination of newer chairlifts and snowmakers for the slopes. Bear Mountain is a sister resort of Snow Summit. Together they have with 26 lifts that take you on more than 50 runs all over more than 400 acres. There are two world class ski resorts in Big Bear, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain
